Stactor at M.O.M.A.

No, not THAT M.O.M.A.! Of course, I'm talking about the Museum Of Microcassette Art, instigated and curated by the one and only, your friend and mine, Hal Mcgee!

Oh, you knew which one I was talking about? Well, never mind then...

Um, what was I saying? Oh yeah, M.Stactor has a new release called "MOMATAPE 2013". It's part of the Museum Of Microcassette Art. Here's the link:

And, for other M.O.M.A. releases and all 'round Haltapes goodness:

cassette fair

Sorry for the short notice (ahem, no notice), today is the First Annual International Cassette Store Day and I'll be participating in a "cassette fair" at Sonic Boom here in Toronto. A couple links with further info:

Why such short notice? I have two good excuses (I think) - 1) I only found out about the event earlier this week, and 2) I've been busy initiating a new sound project and making a new cassette release!

"A Box On Angles, Thin Arms Extended Irons" is the premier cassette release from Panic Engines, a new analog synth sci-fi noise drone weirdness project out of Toronto, Canada. Who is Panic Engines? Hmmm, I wonder...

Drop by Sonic Boom this afternoon and find out more!

That's all for now. Buy a cassette or two today!

Six Heads on The Other Side...

Six Heads has a track on a new compilation from the Finnish label 267 Lattajjaa. It's a free download from Bandcamp. A lot of material (39 tracks!) and most of it is quite strong and quite enjoyable! Here's the link:

Zev Asher R.I.P.

I liked Zev as a person and respected him as an artist. I have fond memories and appreciation of the times we spent together. He will be missed.

a noisey night at the public library

Here's some info on an upcoming performance happening this Sat. evening at, of all places, the public library! Say what?! Shhhh!

Make Some Noise and Offerings present a two part event at the Bloor/Gladstone Branch of Toronto Public Library

FIRST: Multiple sound artists stationed around the library create improvised performances that the audience is encouraged to remix to their own musical taste.

THEN: Three musicians reconstruct a composition using recordings of the improvised performances.

It is our hope that this process bodes agreeable results. At the very least it should be a very interesting evening!

I am super stoked about this! First time Brian and I have been on stage together in close to 15 years! W-w-w-what!? I kid you not. Don't miss it!

In addition, I'll have some new product available. First full-length release by Th  W rbl r since "Then I Saw Your Smile" came out on Inyrdisk in 2007. This latest is a C-60 of all-new live-in-studio material entitled "Time Slips". I'm really happy with it! Here's a photo:

Th  W rbl r "Time Slips", high-bias C-60 in resealable plastic bag, hand-made monoprint covers, each one unique

I'll have some copies of the "Then I Saw Your Smile" CD at the show as well (only a few left!) as well as various and sundry other projects (M.Stactor, Songs of the New Erotics, Six Heads, etc.).

That's all for now. Hope to see you at the show!
