A couple nice, new things to announce here. I have a track on the most recent "1 Minute Autohypnosis" compilation from Mute Sound (a.k.a. Pedro Bericat) in Spain. "1 Minute Autohypnosis #59 Trash" is not available on the Mute Sound website yet but I expect it will be soon (in the meantime, be sure to check out previous editions!). If you want a physical copy of #59, write to Pedro (TBH, I'm not even sure he sells these but it doesn't hurt to ask). I received my contributor's copy via snail mail a week or so back and it's always a thrill to get one of these things! Pedro does not disappoint in the mail art/packaging department! I'm including some photos below:
The package is a found, 7-inch record sleeve with a soft, clear, acrylic "copy" of the original record (at least, I'm guessing that's what that is. I wonder what would happen if I tried to play it on a record player). The sleeve is folded and taped and contains the acrylic, 7-inch record duplicate (also folded) and the 3-inch CD version of "1 Minute Autohypnosis #59 Trash" as well as the compilation track list. Super cool! And I expect he uses a different found record for every copy. Extra super cool!
The other item on my announcement list (can two things be considered a list?) is a great new video from W. David Oliphant (Maybe Mental, Life Garden, etc.) which incorporates some sounds from yours truly! David and I started a fascinating email exchange recently and I sent him a copy of my album/sample collection "500". David immediately worked some of the samples into this new video piece which uses AI-generated video imagery (something David has been experimenting with recently, to great effect, IMO).
I was a Maybe Mental fan back in the day (still am) so I'm pretty chuffed with this "collab"! Have a look below:
