Pleased to announce the debut performance of a new sound project I'm involved in called Cinder. Cinder consists of myself on amplified objects, electronics, etc.; Daeve Fellows on synths and bowed things; and Nigel Craig on electronic percussion and effects. “Lescalleet’s sound world occupies a space between noise, contemporary composition, and minimal electronics. Using decidedly primitive tactics and equipment (e.g. antiquated reel-to-reel recorders, damaged tape, etc.), his work focuses on extreme frequencies and microscopic audio detail. Jason Lescalleet is the finest tape music-artist you’ll find working today. He’s also been a member of Due Process, worked with Nmperign, Joe Colley, Jason Kahn, John Hudak, Bhob Rainey, and most recently Graham Lambkin in their Breadwinner project which has yielded unprecedented and glorious results in the electroacoustic music of today. Lescalleet lives and works in the state of Maine.”

“Maica Mia is a band from Montreal consisting of Maica Armata and Jonny Paradise. These two have been playing together in various ensembles for the past five years and have recently decided to pursue a rare and special path as a duo. Paradise’s humanistic/synthetic layers of mpc sampler and sensitive/explosive drumming accompany Mia’s minimalist guitar and arresting vocals. The results are spellbinding.” For this show they will be joined by Toronto musicians Joda Clement & Chandan Narayan.
C I N D E R - ( http://cinder.bandcamp.com/ )
“Cinder is an experimental sound project formed in 2011 by artists William Davison, Daeve Fellows, and Nigel Craig. The group sublimates aspects of musical genres such as industrial, noise, musique concrete, and drone, within an improvisational approach. Broken synthesizers, analog drum machines, tapeloops, contact mics, found objects, and bass guitar are ground up in a spatial murk.”
